From one Mississippi wedding pro to another

Hey y’all, I’m Jim Burt. I own Alvastage Acres, a countryside chapel and barn wedding venue out in Duck Hill. Like a lot of you, I spend my weekends making sure couples get the day they’ve been dreaming about, and I’ve gotten to work alongside a lot of talented people in this state.

Here’s something I keep running into: the best wedding vendors in Mississippi mostly grow by word of mouth. That works, but it’s hard to scale. And the big national directories can cost a small business a lot while burying our couples in out-of-state listings that don’t know a thing about our towns, our venues or our seasons.

So I started the Mississippi Wedding Collective. It’s a directory just for Mississippi, where vendors pay a simple monthly membership (with 3 months of Premier free to start) and couples browse for free and reach out to you directly. No bidding wars, no middleman.

I want this to be a real network, too. Members referring each other, showing up together at bridal shows, and sharing ideas at Collective events like styled shoots and open houses. When one of us does great work, all of us look good.

To be clear, this isn’t an Alvastage website. Full disclosure: Alvastage Acres is listed in the directory, under the same rules, plans and review as every other vendor. Other venues are welcome and are treated the same as everyone else. The goal is simple: help Mississippi couples find Mississippi pros.
