The Mississippi Wedding Collective is an online directory of independent Mississippi wedding businesses. We’re here to help you find local pros. Here’s what that means in practice.
We don’t endorse or guarantee vendors
We review listings before they go live to keep the directory real and Mississippi-only, but that review is not an endorsement, inspection, background check or guarantee. Badges such as Premier, Featured or Founding reflect a vendor’s membership plan, not a rating of their work. Listing information is provided by the vendors themselves and may change.
We’re not part of your contract
When you hire a vendor, your agreement is between you and that vendor. MWC is not a party to it, doesn’t handle payments between couples and vendors, and isn’t responsible for any vendor’s services, pricing, cancellations or disputes.
Before you book, we recommend you
- Get a written contract that spells out services, dates, prices, deposits and cancellation terms.
- Ask about and verify any licenses, permits and insurance the vendor needs (for example, liability insurance for venues or food-service permits for caterers).
- Check recent reviews and references from sources you trust, and see the vendor’s work in person when you can.
- Confirm what happens if bad weather or an emergency affects your date.
Transparency
The Collective is run by Jim Burt, who also owns Alvastage Acres, a venue listed in the directory under the same rules as everyone else.
Something wrong with a listing?
If a listing looks inaccurate or a vendor isn’t really based in Mississippi, let us know at alvastageacres@gmail.com and we’ll look into it.
